Bringing Services and Wellness to Service Members, Veterans and Their Families

What to Expect:
Join us for a day dedicated to supporting and celebrating service members, veterans and their families!
This empowering event will feature a variety of local providers ready to address needs: from behavioral health, to employment, housing and beyond. Attendees can:
- Explore resources to provide assistance, enrich well-being and strengthen community connections.
- Get your benefits sorted through a VA claims clinic held by DAV Chapter 26. Bring your relevant documents to get help applying for what you’ve earned.
- Engage in therapeutic activities designed to foster resilience and joy.
- Enjoy delicious food and great company while connecting with peers and providers. At noon, the first 200 people will be given a free lunch to take with them. We’ll have coffee, water and snacks available throughout the day.
- Partake in multiple raffles for chances to win valuable products and prizes.

10:30 a.m. – Color guard by the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office
11 a.m. – The Importance of VA Disability Benefits: a presentation by DAV Commander Maira Callis on how valuable this can be and how to file a successful claim
12 p.m. – Lunch is served
12 p.m. – Empowering Your Financial Future: a presentation by investment advisor Robert Slawiniski on strategies to improve your financial security and outlook
1 p.m. – Faith and Mental Health: a presentation by Pastor Fitzroy Smith on the church’s role in promoting emotional and spiritual wellness
3 p.m. – Event ends

We’re seeking attendees and volunteers to make this event a success! Help us spread the word and invite others in the SMVF community to join us for this enriching day!
